WHO ARE WE?
We are a society led by a committee of UOL Classicists, hoping to create a safe space, community, and a support network for students of colour across UOL. We are also committed to continuing the education of all classicists in matters surrounding decolonisation and race. We regularly host talks, socials, discussion groups and welfare events to build community and learn from one another.
SURVEY ON POST-COVID APPROACHES TO DECOLONISATION
With the upcoming 4th anniversary of the society, LCOC is looking towards our legacy and the effect we have had on attitudes towards decolonisation along with the future of our mission. As part of a new project involving writing a published paper for an academic journal, we need your help!
We want to hear about your experiences with getting involved with decolonisation, and understand your thoughts on our mission. If you could take some time and fill out our survey below, it would help us better understand how universities have changed their attitudes to equality, diversity and inclusion for students. We can’t wait to update you on our progress through our paper examining student activism in educational institutes along with our specific work as a group. This will inform our future strategies and the kind of events we plan to run over the coming years.
We would be very grateful if you could please fill out our short form below – it won’t take longer than 10 minutes, and will help shape the future of decolonisation in academia!

DONATEOur society firmly believes that our speakers and contributors deserve to be compensated for the decolonisation work that they perform within the field; too often it is an exhausting and time-consuming process. In a bid to ensure that from now on our speakers are paid for their efforts, we are now kindly requesting donations from our supporters. 100% of our proceeds fund the payment of our speakers and LCOC's maintenance.
