COMMON MISCONCEPTIONS
1. We don't focus on all marginalised communities; we were founded specifically to engage with race and give it the attention it deserves. However, we aim to address intersectional issues in collaboration with other groups.
2. We are not exclusively for POC – we welcome anyone who is interested in decolonisation!
3. We are students; hence, we are not experts in the field of decolonisation – we ourselves are still learning. We offer a student perspective into the field of Classics and its relation to race. However, we work with academics to produce informative content.

BLACK ATHENAWe decided upon Black Athena for our logo, because we firmly believe that important repercussions of Bernal’s work are being felt today. The essence of Black Athena we hope to represent is the importance of decolonising the subject, and decentralising its Eurocentric focus. The relevance of Black Athena, and the vitality of that which it represents, is explored and summed up by the following article available on Eidolon – if you have any more questions, please feel free to contact us.
